AgroConnect · Open collaboration

Build for the people behind our food.

Indian agriculture is not one problem or one climate. Explore state-by-state crop examples and technology questions, find a useful first task, and help shape AgroConnect with farmer needs in view.

Research is a starting point for questions—not a substitute for local farmer knowledge or agronomic advice.

A field snapshot, not a live dashboard.

Figures below are transcribed from Government of India reports published in October 2026. Each comparison is date-matched where the source provides it; early-season sowing is not a yield forecast, and monitored reservoir storage is not a measure of water available to an individual farm.

    ALL REPORTED RABI CROPS

The Ministry’s crop bulletin reports that Rabi wheat sowing had not yet commenced by 16 Oct. That is a dated, early-season status—not evidence of a shortfall. Read the source bulletin for definitions, crop rows, and reporting caveats.

Dated IMD observation: the bulletin issued 19 Oct recorded 12 cm at Guna, Madhya Pradesh, during the 24 hours ending 05:30 IST that morning, and isolated heavy-to-very-heavy rain in West Madhya Pradesh. This is a past observation, not a current alert or forecast. Read the bulletin

    NORTH / CENTRAL · WATER & WEATHER

Can advice arrive before the next stressful season?

Heat, rainfall variability, and water availability affect planting and crop-health decisions differently from district to district. How might a low-bandwidth tool combine timely forecasts with crop-specific, locally reviewed guidance?

What still works when the signal does not?

CENTRAL / DECCAN · CROP HEALTH

Can a model explain uncertainty—not just name a disease?

Image-based predictions should be tested across crops, growth stages, lighting, and field conditions. How can AgroConnect show confidence, ask for a clearer image, and cite reviewed sources instead of overstating a diagnosis?

Can farmers verify where a recommendation came from?

Indian sources to check the context.

These are official Indian agriculture, weather, scheme, and market portals. The dated October 2026 figures above are static report snapshots, not live data feeds.

    How to read this page

The map pairs 36 state/UT crop examples and technology prompts with official Rabi sowing notes where the Ministry bulletin names a state, plus a CWC reservoir-region comparison where that state is covered. A missing state note means only that the cited bulletin did not list one; it does not mean there was no sowing or water concern.

Research limit: the map’s crop examples are not yet reconciled state-by-state against a named official production year, so they are not rankings or measured local crop profiles. The page has no live crop statistics, market prices, weather alerts, scheme eligibility, or farmer-survey results. Validate product ideas with local farmers and extension experts.

    • Weather: show the locality, issue time, and validity of an official advisory; do not present a state-level prompt as a forecast.
    • Statistics and markets: keep crop year, market, commodity, units, and reporting date attached to every figure; early sowing area is not production.
    • Schemes: link to official eligibility and application guidance; never imply that a user qualifies based on a map selection.
    • Crop-health AI: expose uncertainty and source provenance, and provide a path to local expert review.

State and union-territory boundary geometry is redistributed under the upstream MIT license; see map attribution and source vintage. The boundaries are not authoritative legal determinations. Crop examples and problem statements are discussion prompts—not current production rankings, risk data, or a substitute for farmer and agronomist validation.
